BETTER EDUCATION, BETTER FUTURE FOR THE COUNTRY
In the Puerto Calavera neighborhood of Segovia, around 100 students from the IE Rural Fray Martín Porres, located one hour from the municipal seat, have renovated facilities.
The work, carried out by Gran Colombia Gold in alliance with the Mayor's Office of Segovia, consisted of the installation of new roofs, remodeling of bathrooms and kitchen; construction of a gabion wall, protective mesh for the soccer field, access ramps, façade painting, enclosure of the perimeter of the entire institution and supply of biosafety elements such as portable pedal sinks and soap dispensers.
Since 2017, Gran Colombia Gold, within its social investment plans, has intervened in 19 schools in Segovia and Remedios with an investment of more than 10 billion pesos, through the Education for Development initiative.
“Our commitment to education is essential so that more people in our territories can improve their quality of life and the country has better development.” Said Serafino Iacono, Executive Chairman of GCM Mining.
“A very special thank you to the Gran Colombia Gold company. These public-private alliances make it possible to transform the future of our children, promote quality and relevant education and, above all, make it possible to have competent institutions and offices that dignify the lives of each of the students." Expresses Didier Osorio Giraldo, Mayor of Segovia.
